Village Artifacts

We always appreciate donations of antique items from the period 1850-1900 to use in our buildings. We are especially looking for Northville High School Yearbooks and copies of the Northville Record Centennial Edition from 1969. Particularly useful are small decorative pieces such as framed pictures for the walls, china, textiles, or everyday tools. Tax receipts are given for any donation.

Northville Materials

Please consider donating any Northville artifacts to the Archives including, but not limited to, antiques, papers, maps, books, blueprints, event flyers, calendars, phone books, abstracts, and photos. The Society is very interested in collecting and preserving items pertaining to Northville’s history.

Annual June Garage Sale

The Northville Historical Society and the Girl Scouts host an annual garage sale at the home of Carole Jean and Bill Stockhausen, located at 218 W. Dunlap (corner of High St.).

Donated items can be dropped off at the Stockhausen’s home (only in June before the sale). They are especially looking for furniture. Pick up’s are available by contacting Bill or Carole Jean at 248-349-2833. They will accept donations throughout the sale, and tax slips are available. The rest of the year, donations are accepted at Mill Race, Cady Inn office.

In the past they have sold everything from a ceramics kiln to golf clubs, a sailboat to a backyard pond, baby items and books to a bamboo aquarium, a dollhouse to a dog house, furniture ranging from antique to being perfect for college, from clothing to exercise equipment, record albums to record players, Christmas trees to other holiday items, and beds to linens.  Also a variety of items like patio furniture, toys, bikes, dishes, and you name it have probably been sold one year or another.
