General Store - Timeline April 2008 - September 2010

The General Store is the newest addition to the Village. The building originally stood on E. Main and was rescued from demolition in 2005 by Society volunteers. The original dimensions were documented during disassembly, and the wood was stored until reconstruction. The building was originally a General Store in the 1850s and served as a variety of businesses through the years.

Fundraising enabled construction to begin April 21, 2008, and the photos show the progress of the building. As each new plateau was reached in the fundraising process, that phase of the General Store was completed. The J. M. Mead General Store was officially opened during the Victorian Festival on September 19, 2010.
