Directions
Northville City Hall is located in downtown Northville at 215
West Main Street, two blocks west of Center Street, on the south
side of the street. Driving directions are below. If you
are interested in renting the facilities of City Hall,
see information below. Hours:
Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm. (Please note that passport
applications are accepted Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 11:30am.)
From the East
I-96 West to M-14 West. Exit Sheldon Road North.
Travel north on Sheldon (approximately 3.5 miles). At the
traffic light turn left (west) onto Seven Mile Road. Take the
first right (north) onto Wing Street. Continue North on Wing
to West Main . We are located on the corner of West Main and
Wing Streets.
From the West (M-14)
M-14 East to Sheldon Road exit. Turn right (north).
Travel north on Sheldon (approximately 3.5 miles). At the
traffic light turn left (west) at Seven Mile Road, take the first
right (turn west) onto Wing Street. Continue North on Wing
to West Main . We are located on the corner of West Main and
Wing Streets.
From the West (I-96)
I-96 East to Beck Road exit. Turn left (south) on Beck Road
to Eight Mile Road. Turn left (east) on Eight Mile.
Continue on Eight Mile to Center Street. Turn right ( south)
on Center Street. Center Street to Main Street. Turn
right (west) on Main Street. We are located in the second
block on the corner of West Main and Wing Streets.
From the South
I-275 North to West Seven Mile Road exit. Approximately 2 miles
west on Seven Mile Road to Northville Road (just past the railroad
tracks). Turn right (north) on Northville Road, now S Main St.
Remain on Main St, take the curve to the left, now E Main St. After
the 3rd traffic light at Center, now W Main St proceed two blocks
more. City Hall will be on the left (south) side of the street.
From the North
I-275 South to Eight Mile Road exit. Turn right (west).
Approximately 2 miles, past the traffic light at Novi Road, turn
left (south) on Center St.
At the 2nd traffic light, turn right (west) on West Main St.

Room Rentals
The City of Northville rents the Conference, Training and Meeting
rooms as well as Council Chambers for the benefit of Northville area
residents and groups. City Council has determined that a
system of rules and regulations are necessary for the maintenance
and efficient operation of these facilities.
Following are the rules and regulations to ensure the maintenance
and efficient operation of the Northville rental facility.
General Rules
for Use Established by the City Council
Priority use of the facility shall be determined as follows:
- Northville City Council
- Northville City Advisory Boards and Commissions
- Non-profit Organizations
- Profit Organizations
The City Manager or his designee shall use the following criteria
when determining whether to grant permission for use of the
facility:
- What is the nature of the meeting?
- Is membership to the group open to all persons without regard
to race, color, sex, religion, or physical handicap?
- Would content of the meeting/activity interfere with the
rights of the general public or proprietary functions of the City?
Administration
Scheduling will be done by the City Manager or his designee. All
fees and deposits will be deposited in an appropriate City Fund or
account.

Reservations
A. Applications for use of the facilities must be made in writing
by a responsible adult on the proper reservation forms. Forms are
available in the City Manager’s office. The cashier’s office at City
Hall will collect all fees and any security deposit and stamp the
application paid. Applications must be returned to the City Manager.
Applications will be processed by the City Manager or his designee.
B. The rental fee is required before any reservation will be
confirmed. A minimum $50.00 security deposit may also be required.
The rental fee and the security deposit shall be refunded if the
reservation is canceled up to one week before the scheduled event.
Any cancellation within six (6) days of the event shall be subject
to an administration fee equal to twenty-five percent (25%) of the
original rental fee.
C. All rental fees and any security deposits must be received in
check, cash, cashiers check, or money order.
D. The City Manager reserves the right to negotiate separate fees
and to contract for continuing reservations on a daily, weekly,
monthly, or similar basis.
E. Rental security deposit shall be refunded less an amount
necessary to cover any property damage, room reorganization charges,
or excessive cleaning costs as determined by the City Manager.
Payment of a damage deposit does not remove the liability of the
Renter to pay for property damage or excessive clean-up, the cost of
which may exceed the amount of the damage deposit.
Liability and
Insurance
The City of Northville assumes no responsibility, financial or
otherwise, for accidents or injuries to individuals, groups of
individuals, or personal property, including City property. The City
shall not be responsible for the overnight storage of equipment or
exhibits. Proof of liability insurance coverage may be required as
determined by the City Manager.
Custodial
A. The City shall be responsible for general maintenance,
including floors and other surfaces, and restrooms.
B. The Renter shall be responsible for all set-up, takedown, and
return of tables, chairs, and other equipment to their proper
locations, and shall be responsible for general clean-up and removal
of any debris.
Assurances
The Renter shall be responsible for assuring:
- Orderly behavior.
- Financial responsibility for any damages due to use of the
facilities.
- Responsiveness to directives, rules and regulations of the
City for use of the facilities.
- That all activities are of a nature suitable for presentation
in a public building.
- That the activity is lawful and in conformity with State and
Federal laws and City Code.
- That groups comprised of 17-year-olds and younger have one
supervisor, 21 years of age or older, present for every 10
patrons.
- The Renter shall be responsible for any police and security
protection which may be required for the activity or event.
- NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES.
- NO SMOKING.
- In the case of an emergency, governmental functions will
supersede any/all events. The City will not be held liable for any
losses incurred due to cancellation. All fees and deposits will be
refunded or the event may be rescheduled.
