Northville Arts Commission
Regular Meeting Minutes / June 12, 2002

Ken Naigus called the meeting of the Northville Arts Commission (NAC) to order at 7:30 at City Hall.

Attendees: Ken Naigus, Kathleen O’Brien, Sonia Swigart, Sharon Rossow. Kathleen Tabaczynski, Sue Taylor,

Absent: Marie Barr, Pat Dorrian-Sandbothe, Irme Tracy

There were no minutes to approve since the last regular meeting on May 8th was used to jury Art Market.

NAC 2002/2003 Goals and Objectives Plan

Ken reviewed the revised plan with the team.

Team agreed to the plan.

The plan will serve as the agenda for future meetings.

NAC Articles of Organization

Team reviewed the NAC Articles of Organization and agreed to several proposed changes.

Ken will be editing the document to include proposed changes.

When complete, the proposal for changes will be presented to City Council for approval.

NAC Officers

Team decided to hold the election for NAC officers at the next regular meeting on July 10^th.

Uptown Café use of Bandshell Area on Friday Nights during the Clock Concerts

The Uptown Cafe has an approval from the City for outdoor dining.
However, the approval notes that all tables and chairs must be
completely removed from the area during events held by the Arts
Commission (and other civic groups), unless there is prior agreement
from the Commission to do otherwise. After discussion and a vote, we
decided the following:

No food will be served during the time the Northville Arts Commission
uses the area for Clock Concerts -- this includes setting up for the
concert and during the performance. Uptown Cafe will be required to
move all tables and chairs to the side of the park so that the Arts
Commission can place as many chairs as possible for concert attendees.

Upcoming Dates

July 10^th – Next regular meeting 7:30 pm, City Hall

Friday nights through August 23^rd, Clock concerts, 7:30-9:00 at the bandshell.

Adjournment

The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 pm
