o Ken Naigus, Chairperson

o Sharon Rossow, Vice Chairperson

o Sue Taylor, Treasurer

o Kathleen Tabaczynski, Secretary

Budget

Kathleen T. will get copies of the approved budget to the Commissioners.

Team agreed that the cash box should be kept at the Recreation Center @ Hillside.

Sue T. will work with the City Finance Dept. to establish the Treasury process.

Art Market

Sue will make the final decision on the remaining two openings for Art Market. Some artsists not juried into the show will be put on a waiting list in case there are last minute cancellations.

Kathleen T. will schedule a special, optional meeting to iron out details of the various Art Market activities including the NAC booth schedule, artist breakfast, etc.

Kids Art Mural Project

Sue and Kathleen T. presented the idea of a Kids art project as part of Art Market.

Team decided not to pursue the idea at this time.

Proposed Fundraiser

Sue and Kathleen T. presented the idea of a Northville Artist Art Show and Sale, which would be a new program/fundraiser (a percentage of the artist’s sales would be donated to NAC).

The Team decided the best date for the fundraiser would be November 24th to coincide with the Christmas Walk.

Next steps are for Sue and Kathleen T. to secure the date and a venue for the event.

2202/2203 Michael Farrell Art Lecture Series

Pat announced that the Art Lecture Series would start in December and the theme selected for this year’s series is The Wild West.

Kathleen T. will ensure that the December lecture, ‘An Overview of Art from the Wild West’ will be included in the Fall Parks and Recreation brochure.

Misc.

Sue and Kathleen O. will lead an effort to add 4 optional, supplemental meetings to the NAC schedule per year. The purpose of these meetings will be for an art-related activity or social gathering. Team agreed that 2 of the meetings would be for NAC members only and 2 would be activities open to the public.

Kathleen T. will distribute the revised (per Ken) NAC Articles of Organization for the team to review and approve prior to the revisions being presented to Council.

Kathleen T. announced that the Commission has been invited to participate in the Cultural Initiatives Alliance a collaborative organization for the Humanities, Arts and Libraries. Meetings are the third Thursday of every month. Sharon volunteered to attend some of the meetings.

Kathleen T. announced a tentative date for the Canton Chamber Orchestra performance (the first in the 2003 Winter Concert Series) of January 12th at Northville High School auditorium.

Team agreed that it would be O.K. for the Northville Rotary Club to display their car raffle booth on the South side of parking lot adjacent the bandshell during the Friday night Clock Concert, as long as Rotary members were not soliciting participation in the audience.
