Arts Commission Minutes

Ken Naigus called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm at City Hall.

Attendees: Ann Brenner, Ken Naigus, Kathleen O’Brien, Sharon Rossow, Sonia Swigart, Kathleen Tabaczynski, Sue Taylor

Guests: Laurie Fowler, Mary Lou Greene, Sue Vitali

Sharon volunteered to take over the Michael Farrell lecture series.

Kathleen made a motion for a unique domain name for the Northville Arts Commission website (northvillearts.com) for 5-years at a cost of $150.

The motion was approved unanimously.

Ken presented an idea that Shari Peters from Community Foundation had regarding the NAC participating in the parade and advertising the Friday night Concerts.

Team decided unanimously not to participate in the 4th of July parade.

Kathleen announced that the Buckhave's have offered the Banquet Room of Old Church Square to the NAC for the Holiday Art Market again this year.

The show will be Saturday and Sunday this year same weekend as the Christmas Walk.

Kathleen O'Brien will be at most concerts to sell t-shirts and pass out membership brochures. Ann Brenner will be her back-up.

Shari Peters from the Community Foundation will be at the Sheila Landis concert on August 15th as the sponsor of that concert (via the grant we received from the Community Foundation).

Heather Asteriou, scheduled to present a pc.of artwork did not attend the meeting.

Mary Lou Greene presented a proposal for two educational art projects (see attachment). The NAC will

Ken gave a history and summary of the Sculpture Program to the Commission.

The group juried some additional artists who had applied to the show.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:00pm
