Regular Meeting – September 5, 2001

CALL TO ORDER

Commissioner Stapleton called the meeting to order at 7:30pm.

Absent: Connie Cronin, excused
Luke Durst, excused

Also present: Richard Starling, Building Official

 

APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA

Motion by Gazlay, supported by Lawrie to approve the agenda.

Voice Vote: Ayes: All, Nays: None.

MINUTES

Chairman Stapleton asked that an amendment be made to the August 1, 2001 minutes. The in the first sentence, under Minutes, the regarding the Case #01-04, should stated …the motion regarding Case #01-04 be tabled to the next meeting.

CASES

CASE #01-09

Ross Worley, 115 Linden

The applicant requested to place a new garage 3 feet from the lot line, instead of the 5 feet that is required per the Zoning Ordinance. By placing the garage 3 feet from the lot line, this will maximize the usefulness of their property. The added area will give sufficient room for a garden as well as a play area for their child.

Motion by Haveraneck, supported by Lawrie to grant the variance as requested.

Voice Vote: Ayes: 7, Nays: 2 (Stapleton, Gazlay).

 

CASE #01-10

Shawn Riley, 335 Eaton

The applicant requested a variance from section 18.09 residential fences. The applicant has proposed to construct a 6’ fence for a more private and side yard.

A letter was written to the Commissioner from Mr. Bruce Turnble, (a near by resident, stating that he had not objections to the construction of the 6’ fence.

The Riley’s neighbor Mr. Brian Turnble was present to state that he supported the new fence for more privacy.

Motion by Maise, supported by Haveraneck to approve the variance as requested.

Voice Vote: Ayes: 7, Nays: 2 (Rae, Ayers).

 

 

CASE #01-11

Ken Park, 270 S Center

The applicant has requested for a 19-foot setback instead for the required 25-foot front yard setback. The applicant would like to enhance the character of his property and enlarge his living room. A new front porch and entrance porch will be constructed to make the front area more appealing.

Motion by Haveraneck, supported by Lawrie to approve the variance for the front yard setback as requested.

Voice Vote: Ayes: All, Nays: None.

Motion by Gazlay, supported by Stapleton to adjourn the meeting at 8:30pm.
