Beautification Commission Minutes

NORTHVILLE BEAUTIFUL COMMISSION
Tuesday – November 9, 2004

Members: Cusmano, Hansknecht, Hayes, Lestock

Members absent: Rewald, Tague

Guest: Charlotte Lenk

The meeting was called to order at 7:15 PM by Chair Lestock.

AWARDS: The residential home awards were discussed at length. Before we judge next year we will look at increasing the number of recipients from each section. Several commissioners found it hard to keep to the 15 home limit.

PLANTINGS: Lestock has not received the 300 bulbs ordered for the clock. Lestock will call to see when the bulbs will arrive. As the clock was hit again, this time on the north side, both sides are now crumbling. Gallogly advised that the clock will be totally redone by the time the bulbs arrive.

KMB ANNUAL AWARDS: Lestock will get with Traci Sincock (Parks & Recs/Community Center) and Ken Naigus (Baseline Sculpture) in regard to submitting these renovated and new additions to our city to Keep Michigan Beautiful. The nominations are due February 25, 2005.

WITCH WALL: Daylilies and iris will be divided next spring. Running out of time this year.

PLANTERS: Have been removed to the DPW Yard.

BCSEM: The meeting will be on Wednesday, December 8 in Taylor. Lestock will be in contact with members who are interested in going.
