CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
November 13, 2001

Mayor Johnson called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance at 7:30 p.m. in the Northville City Hall Council Chambers, 215 West Main Street, Northville, Michigan.

ELECTION RESULTS:

The City Clerk read the results of the City Regular Election held on Tuesday, November 6, 2001.

TOTAL VOTES: 565

MAYOR: Christopher J. Johnson 517

CITY COUNCIL: Kevin Hartshorne 485

Jerome J. Mittman 479

INSTALLATION OF MAYOR/COUNCIL MEMBERS:

Judge John E. MacDonald, 35^th District Court, administered the Oath of Office to Mayor Johnson and Councilmembers Hartshorne and Mittman.

ROLL CALL:

Present: Mayor Christopher Johnson, Mayor ProTem Carolann Ayers, Councilmembers Kevin Hartshorne, Jerome Mittman, and Thomas Swigart.

Absent: None.

Also Present: City Manager Gary Word, City Clerk Dianne Massa, Patricia Johnson, Tollie Johnson, and Karlek Johnson.

PRESENTATIONS:

A. Citizen Comments

It was noted that Tollie Johnson’s birthday is Wednesday, November 14, 2001 and she will be ten years old.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA:

Motion Ayers, seconded by Swigart to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS:

A. Election of Mayor ProTem

Motion Swigart, seconded by Mittman to appoint Carolann Ayers as Mayor ProTem. Motion carried unanimously.

B. Board and Commission Liaison Appointments

Mayor Johnson stated the current liaison appointments would continue.

COMMUNICATIONS:

A. Mayor and Council Communications

Ayers expressed her appreciation to the Mayor and City Council for their support in appointing her as the Mayor ProTem for the next two years.

Mittman raised questions relative to reviewing the progress of the current goals and objectives.

B. Staff Communications None.

There being no further business to come before Council, the meeting was adjourned.

Adjournment: 7:36 p.m.
