NORTHVILLE HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION
March 20, 2002

Northville City Hall -Council Chambers

1. CALL TO ORDER: Commissioner Tom Swigart called the Historic District Commission meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.

2. ROLL CALL:

Present: Cryderman, Culp, Holleman, Swigart.

Absent: Worley (excu.)

3. Minutes: Motion by Culp, supported by Holleman to approve the March 6, 2002 "Special Meeting" and the February 20, 2002 minutes as submitted. Motion unanimously carried. Voice Vote.

4. AUDIENCE COMMENTS: None.

5. REPORTS:

City Administration: None.

City Council: None.

Historic District Commission: None.

Other Community / Governmental Liaisons: None.

6. CASES:

CASE #1 New Residence

No one was present to hear the application.

No action was taken.

CASE #2 Sign

Graphic Visions/Kelly & Kelly

422 East Main Street

Northville, Michigan 48167

The applicant presented the plans for new signage for 422 East Main Street. The new sign will replace the existing sign that was damaged as a result of the wind. The sign is within the guidelines of the Northville Sign Ordinance. Sue Dillon from Graphic Visions designed the sign. It is one double-sided routered ground sign. The substrate is 2", 18# sign foam. The colors are SW2937 -Tarbiz Teal, SW2386 -Riviera Water, and -A8640 Spruce Green. Posts will be 6"X 6" , painted Riviera Water and have added on accents and caps. Lettering will be carved in and traditional gold leaf.

Motion by Culp, supported by Cryderman to approve the application as submitted. Motion unanimously carried. Voice Vote.

CASE # 3 Addition

Mary Ellen McBride

125 Randolph

Northville, Michigan 48167

Ms. McBride explained plans for a small addition to the rear of her house at 125 Randolph St. The 1st floor laundry room addition will be 5’ x 14’ 2", flush with the existing first floor. Colors will be white with light green and match the existing colors of the home. A double hung window will be used in the new addition. The upper deck (above the laundry room) will remain, but the stairs will be removed. The existing air conditioner must also be moved to the east side of the home and will be camouflaged with shrubs so that it will not be seen from the street.

Motion by, Culp supported by Cryderman to approve the application for the addition at 125 Randolph St. as submitted.

Motion unanimously carried. Voice Vote.

7. ADJOURNMENT:

Motion by Cryderman, supported by Holleman to adjourn the meeting at 8:10 P.M.
