The Photo ID Requirement applies to Absent Voters requesting to receive their ballot in person (PA 523 of 2012).

Absent Ballot voters that do not possess acceptable photo id and want to receive their ballot in person may complete an affidavit. The AV ballot will be processed as a “challenged ballot.”

Absent voter ballot applications may only be sent to voters that formally request one either verbally or in writing. Further, the voter must make their request for an absent voter application for each election.

In order to have an absentee ballot mailed to you, you must apply for a ballot no later than 2:00pm on the Saturday preceding Election Day. The City Clerk’s office will be on 9:00am to 2:00pm on the Saturday prior to all elections for election purposes only. Absentee Ballot voting is allowed until 4:00pm on the Monday preceding Election Day; however, all ballots must be voted at City Hall.

Each voter must sign his or her application. If you would like your ballot mailed, state law requires that your Absentee Ballot be delivered to your registered address unless you are hospitalized, institutionalized, or at an address outside your community.
