Main Street SchoolThe process of dismantling Main Street School is underway and expected to be completed, weather permitting, in late March, 2019.

Northville School District Superintendent Mary K. Gallagher sent a letter to the downtown community on Feb. 7, informing them of the process and timeline of the demolition of the building at 501 W. Main Street. The interior will be dismantled first, following an environment abatement process, then the exterior will be demolished using heavy equipment. There will be no implosion.

It was noted that “those living closest to the construction site may hear occasional loud equipment noises and/or feel a shaking of the ground from construction vehicles and equipment.”

When tear-down is complete, builder/developer Mike Miller and Greg Morad, of Old Village LLC, plan to build four single family homes on the property and donate land to NPS for a green space buffer on the west side of Old Village School, which was recently remodeled.
