The Northville Police Department has been awarded a grant in the amount $1,768 from the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Fiscal Year 2020 Bulletproof Vest Partnership. The funds from this award are used to reimburse the city 50% of the purchase price of a National Institute of Justice (NIJ) compliant bulletproof vest for Northville police officers. The award covers purchases for new, damaged and expired vests made after April 1, 2020 to Aug. 31, 2022.
The Northville Police Department has a mandatory bulletproof vest wear policy and officer’s vests are replaced every five years.
